Edward Watanabe
Edward Yoshito Watanabe, age 81, of Hawi, Kohala, Hawaii, died Oct. 15, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Puunene, Maui, Hawaii on May 1, 1939, and retired from the State of Hawaii Department of Education as an elementary school teacher at Kohala Elementary School. He was a United States Army veteran and member of the Kohala Senior Citizen Club, Kohala Nutrition Club and Hawaii State Teachers Association-Retired (HSTA-Retired).
Private services.
He is survived by wife, Edna Watanabe of Hawi; son, Evan (Sweety) Watanabe of Wailuku; daughter, Kim (Kyle) Kawakami of Kahului; sister, Ann (Mark) Hiyakumoto of Richmond, California; three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law; four grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Jeffrey Weiss
Jeffrey H. Weiss, 71, of Waimea, Oct. 6, 2020, at home. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 14, 1949, he worked in Salt Lake City’s Public Utilities. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast, golfing, camping, backpacking, rafting and fishing in extreme locations.

He is survived by his wife, Kris; children, Jessie, Justin, Helena, Echo; and siblings Guy, Lisa, Collin, and Richard.

Seijun Hanashiro
Seijun “Hana” Hanashiro, 100, of Honolulu, died Oct. 3, 2020 at a private care home in Keaau. Born Oct. 15, 1919, in Kohala, he worked for the Army Civil Service in Japan and Korea and was a Free and Accepted Mason and lifetime member of Torii Masonic Lodge #6, member of Scottish Rite, Shriners since 1958 and Koboji Shingon Mission of Honolulu.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts.
He is survived by wife, Noriko Hanashiro of Honolulu; son, Roy Hanashiro of Michigan; daughter, Junko (Don) Weeks of Pahoa; sister, Asano Teruya of Honolulu; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Joshua Malloe
Joshua “Josh” Nunes Kanoelani Malloe, 40, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 8, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Dec. 18, 1979 in Honolulu, he was founder and co-owner of Ohana Bottled Water, LLC.
